It’s been a while since we shared industry news – we’ve been very busy here at VATBRIDGE! Luckily we now have a moment to share some news with you.
Last time we looked at a £210m mixed-use scheme in Leeds, Birmingham’s ambitious city centre Paradise development, a developer handing over 9 units and a building warrant with Aberdeen City Council.
This time we’re looking at a swanky new aparthotel in Newcastle, a new development in Cheltenham, an £18m retail centre and property acquisitions in Hull.
Aparthotel Planned for Landmark Newcastle Building
Well known Newcastle developers, The Malhotra Group, have revealed that they are planning in creating a brand new luxury aparthotel.
The building is set to have a glass lift and rooftop bar, perfect for the city centre location. It will also include 23 apartments, 3 bars and a boutique.
The property developers plan to use £7 million to create this soon-to-be iconic building.

New Development in Cheltenham Near Junction of M5 and A40
New plans have been unveiled to create a 3 storey office building next to a branch of ASDA in Gloucestershire.
The building, to be called Hatherley Place, will create 32,743 sq ft (3,680 sq m) of office space. There will also be over 100 parking spaces made available.
The site, now owned by developer and investor Robert Hitchins Ltd, was previously a factory.

Northern Ireland Retail Centre for Sale for £18m
Bow Street Mall, One of Northern Ireland’s best-known shopping centres, in Lisburn is now on the market for a cool £18 million.

The centre is home to several retailers, including Dunnes Stores and Primark. McKibbins and Savills have been instructed to sell by owner Pat McCormack.
Bow Street Mall’s catchment population is given as 672,600 people, with an annual footfall of 3.2 million.

Allenby Commercial Acquire Landmark Properties in Hull
Allenby Commercial, based at Alfred Gelder Street in Hull, has completed the purchase of Europa House. It is a distinctive, gold-clad office block on the corner of Anlaby Road.
They have also acquired the Old Town’s former Jobcentre next to Hull Minster on South Church Side.
Europa House offers 50,000 sq ft of space across six floors and the former Jobcentre will provide offices ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft.
